Stephan Gershfeld (Hewlett, NY) won the boys ‘singles title, defeating Ian Bracks (Tulsa, Okla.) In straight sets, while the girls’ singles title went to tenth seed Erin Ha ( Tenafly, NJ), who knocked off No.1 seed Amber Yin (Ballwin, Mo.).
Favorite Nicholas Patrick (Coal Valley, Ill.) Won the boys’ singles title, beating second seed Ronit Karki (East Brunswick, NJ) in the final. Kenna Erickson (Katy, TX) won the 14-year-old girls’ singles title, defeating fourth seed Leena Friedman (Brooklyn, NY) in straight sets.
Colin McPeek (Carmel, Indiana) was the only player to win the titles, winning the boys ‘singles and doubles titles, while Sophie Suh (Orange, Calif.) Won the girls’ singles title.
Each year, more than 120,000 players participate in USTA junior tournaments. Players compete at levels of competition through deserved progression in the 10-year-old, 12-year-old, 14-year-old, 16-year-old and 18-year-old age categories. USTA’s junior tournaments help kids push their game as far as they want – high school, college or the pros – or just have fun competing.
